Taste of Georgetown Returns for the 19th Year this Saturday


The Summer’s hottest foodie fest is back this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with 30 of the neighborhood’s best restaurants, Top Chef sightings, a  Wine & Ale Tasting Pavilion, live music and foodie festivities.   Taste of Georgetown  proceeds benefit the Georgetown Ministry Center’s services supporting the homeless.

A sample of dishes to be served include: 
  • Surf & Turf Sliders from J. Paul’s and Shrimp & Pesto with fresh Fettuccine from Ristorante Piccolo 
  • Last Tango crepe with strawberries and Nutella from Café Bonaparte 
  • Freshly baked pies from Georgetown newcomer Shut Your Pie Hole
  • Hisho Miso Cold Duck Noodles with house made duck pastrami and buckwheat soba noodles from Mie N Yu 
  • And Bread Pudding with Bourbon Caramel Sauce from Martin’s Taver.
Join HOT 99.5 host Samy K and guest judges Chef Mike Isabella of former “Top Chef” competitor and owner of Georgetown’s new modern Mexican restaurant, Bandolero, Washington City Paper’s “Young & Hungry” Food Columnist Jessica Sidma and Washington Post Express Features Editor Katie Aberbach, as they taste more than 60 dishes and announce winners.

Tickets for Taste of Georgetown are $5 for one tasting and $20 for five tastings, and can be purchased in advance online HERE through June 1.  Tickets are also available at the event. Wine, Ale and Spirits Tasting Pavilion tickets are $10 for 3, and $4 for 1 tasting.
