It's one of my favorite times of the year! Giving Tuesday, a day when millions worldwide unite in a day of giving and service. I hope you take the time today to find a cause to support, donate your time, attend an event (Twelve Days and Art BUZZ are coming up! this week and next), offer your services pro bono to a nonprofit in need or just do an act of good on the street for a complete stranger.
And there is one other very cool thing you can do online via Facebook or Twitter. The DC-based tech for good platform GoodWorld enables you to #donate by simply using the hashtag and handle of ANY charity in their network.
How You #Donate
- Choose one of their 30 partner charities such as No Kid Hungry, Humane Society International, or the Red Cross Los Angeles.
- Visit them on Facebook and comment “#donate + any USD amount” (example: Awesome cause! I #donate $25”) on any post OR Visit them on Twitter and tweet “#donate + any USD amount @partnercharity” (example: I #donate $50 @NoKidHungry).
- You’ll receive a link in the reply – follow it to register with GoodWorld and your card will be charged.
