This year’s Gala benefits our Disaster Rescue Fund, which transports animals to the League from man-made and natural disasters for rehabilitation and placement in loving, forever homes. In 2010, we rescued animals from a hoarding situation in Mississippi, a dogfighting ring in Ohio, an abusive North Carolina research lab, and even from Kuwait, where an animal shelter in this Persian Gulf nation burned down. 2011 will bring many more calls for help.
