The Flashpoint Gallery presents Bradley Chriss' Visions from the End of the World this Friday with The Pink Line Project

Bradley Chriss creates a series of fantastical, apocalyptic watercolors in Visions from the End of the World, Flashpoint Gallery's first exhibition in the 2009-2010 season. Intimately scaled (each work is approximately 10 x 4 inches) and vibrantly colored, the paintings seduce the viewer into confronting scenes that are at once grotesque and serene. Chriss comingles pastoral sun-dappled fields with disemboweled carcasses to confront the inability of humans to grasp a post-human reality. Visions from the End of the World opens Friday, September 11 from 6-8pm.Bradley Chriss

The exhibition opening will feature a cabaret with performances from the Post-NeoAbsurdist Anti-Collective in the premiere of Post-NeoAbsurdism DC. The cabaret will be a medley of tea parties, food orgies and meat poems to complement Chriss' paintings. Performers include Megan Blafas, Tomislav Butkovik, Timothy Campbell, Bradley Chriss, Warren Fry, Mark Jude, Olchar E. Lindsann and Bonner Sale. The opening reception is co-hosted by The Pink Line Project. Support for the opening night reception is provided by Scion.
