Designer Heidi Hess of Poppy honors her lifelong friend Anna Hoyer, the fundraising event's guest of honor, and Hoyer's struggle with type 1 diabetes, with the Anna pendant and cufflinks inspired by her friend's story and created especially for this event. The design of these pieces depicts the journey of confusion, embrace, and acceptance Hoyer experienced coming to terms with living with type 1 diabetes.
All proceeds from the sale of these pieces, as well as silent auction sales from Hess's current collections and pieces by Vera Meyer benefit the Capitol Chapter of the JDRF. Bidders in the 7 pm live auction will be competing for a commission of their choice by Hess. There will also be a chance to bid for, "Dinner At The Tree House" with Architect Travis Price, catered by Cuvée Catering.
