DC Charity Spotlight: Centre for Orangutan Protection

This week's Charity Spotlight was brought to my attention by the National Zoo. They would like to introduce you to the Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP). This dedicated group of orangutan crusaders is doing absolutely phenomenal work in the field. They're the ones going to the palm oil plantations and villages and rescuing the orangutans and bringing them to Nyaru Menteng where they get immediate medical attention and receive all the love and care we can give them! Hardi Baktiantoro, who used to work with Lone at the Nyaru Menteng, is COP's team leader. He's pictured below holding Kerry, a baby girl recently rescued by COP and brought to NM.

They are are honored and proud to be supporting the efforts of COP. You can learn more about them on their website. If you'd like to make a tax-deductible donation for their valuable work, please do so online. Isn't this little guy the cutest thing you ever saw?

UPDATE **** UPDATE **** UPDATE

Richard Zimmerman, who is the Director of Orangutan Outreach, just let me know that if you would like to support COP or Baby Kerry (pictured above), please contact him directly at redapes@gmail.com
