Dinner party anyone?

So today a friend asked me where she could throw a going away party for an older crowd (lobbyists, business people, diplomats) at a swank establishment here in DC. Here is a tiny little list I put together of some hot spots for the older K Street crowd that needs to unwind with good food and wine.

  • Teatro Goldoni has a great space in the back for private parties up the stairs. Very nice and good food.
  • Blue Duck Tavern is super swank and they have this killer lounge area that I’m sure you can get a space for 20.
  • The Source by Wolfgang is totally see and be seen.
  • Brasserie Beck is a good spot and very “local”.
  • BLT Steak Bistro Laurent Tourondel is amazing. I think they have a private room. Food is great.
  • Central Michel Richard has a tiny room that would work. Super swank.
  • The Bar at the Ritz? Older, swankier.
  • PS7’s will set up the back room for you. I did something for $1500 and got appetizers and food for 40 people for 2 hours.
  • Oval Room has a party room. Lots of lobbyist go there.
  • Bistrot Lepic & Wine Bar in Dupont has a really nice wine bar upstairs and is very quaint and tiny
  • Co Co. Sala of course my new favorite. Put some spice in their life. They have a new space they are opening up soon in the back.
  • Marrakesh Palace on the first floor in the back has this private dining room that is like a Moroccan bath house with the tiles and they have belly dancers. Food is good too and not too pricey for large party.
  • Peacock Grand Cafe I love and they have space in the back.
