Sunday mornings can be seen through rose-colored glasses or at least that’s the way it feels at Hudson Restaurant & Lounge, the pinkest scene in DC’s West End. Whether warding off a headache from a Saturday night of too much fun, or dreading Monday morning, after the first sip of mixologist John Hogan’s Mimosa Hudson, the only thing that will be crabby is Hudson’s Crabby Benedict. And nothing goes better with a beautiful stack of buttermilk pancakesChallah French toast than the musical stylings of jazz duo Marshall Keys and Harold Kaufman. or
The Hudson brunch is an array of culinary offerings. Guests can get their egg fix with brunch favorites such as Scrambled Eggs with Salmon and Leeks and served with a toasted bagel and cream cheese; a Spa Omelet, made with egg whites, tomatoes, peppers & asparagus tips and served with whole wheat toast; and the popular Crabby Benedict, with jumbo lump crabmeat and red pepper hollandaise atop of two poached eggs served on sourdough bread. The brunch menu also features Buttermilk Pancakes, a Belgian Waffle, and Challah French Toast, all three selections served with a choice of topping: organic maple syrup and whipped cream, vanilla pineapple coulis, mixed berry compote and powdered sugar, or brown sugar, banana and walnut compote. Of course no brunch menu at Hudson would be complete without their Manhattan Morning with Nova salmon, toasted bagel and cream cheese, served with tomato, red onion and cucumber.
