Watch out for that fireball in Georgetown. Why doesn't this seem like a good idea?

Virginia Emergency Management passed the following information this morning.

"Simulated Explosion: The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Office of Public Affairs advised that there will be a simulated explosion on Wednesday, 25 March, between 0930 and 1200 hours near the Key Bridge in DC that will produce a 20 to 30 foot fireball that should last approximately 2 minutes."

The potential for confusion and alarm from this event are real. Please share with those who rely upon you for their information. We will post a Campus Advisory today.

Warm regards,
John N. Petrie
Assistant Vice President for Public Safety & Emergency Management
The George Washington University
