As a member of the host committee for the upcoming CARMA Foundation fundraiser, Carnavale::Mascarade MMVIII, I am taking every opportunity to tell the readers of DC This Week about the event and invite you all to attend.

Word on the street has it that Jamie Foster-Brown & Paul Wharton will serve as Masters of Ceremony for Carnavale::Mascarade MMVIII

Jamie Foster-Brown is the publisher and sole owner of Sister 2 Sister magazine. And DC's Paul Wharton is a great philanthropic fashion forward spirit featured internationally on MTV's hit series "MADE" and VH-1's "The Agency".

He's currently appearing on TV Land's "She's Got the Look”, TV One's "Makeover Manor" and The CW's "Where the Elite Meet". He's also the face of The CW Washington and The Creative Director of a hugely successful lifestyle blog called TrenDC www.trendctv.com.

The duo will serve as the masters of ceremony for Carnavale::Mascarade MMVIII “A Celebration of the Culture, Art, and History of Haiti” with proceeds being raised to support The CARMA Foundation’s Hurricane Relief Efforts in Haiti. In addition, the evening will recognize Representative Barbara Lee, Representative Alcee Hastings, Danny Glover, and Fritz Racine for their contributions to the lives of Haitians.

Recently Haiti has been dominating the news headlines regarding extreme poverty, hunger, and lately devastations from severe storms like Gustav, Hannah, and Ike. Now greater than ever, our brothers and sisters in Haiti need the support of the Washington, DC community.
