Let the RAMMY voting begin!

RAMW 2008 RAMMY Awards

VOTE ONLINE for at http://www.ramw.org/
Check out my pics below and for Voters Choice I suggest Locanda in Eastern Market. Visit them at http://www.locandadc.com/ and STOP in today.

Now if it was me and I was you know, a foodie, or maybe a restaurant/nightlife editor for a book or website..........like say Not for Tourist..........here are my selections.

New Restaurant of the Year:
Brasserie Beck or Hook

Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year:

Restaurant Eve and if it was on the list, Blue Duck Tavern

Upscale Casual Restaurant of the Year:
Poste Moderne Brasserie or Vermilion or the OLD faithful Zaytinya

Chef of the Year:
Todd Gray, Equinox or Robert Wiedmaier, Marcel's/Brasserie Beck

Pastry Chef of the Year:
Melanie Parker, Equinox because they are just that damn good! And I'm sure next year Co Co Sala will give you a run for your money! Or what about Locanda? And put PS7's on the list again!

Wine & Beverage Program of the Year:

OYA Restaurant & Lounge, but why the hell is Proof not on this list? Dude, 1000 wines. Seriously.

Rising Culinary Star of the Year:
Tony Chittum, Vermilion or Barton Seaver, Hook. Fresh is just so in right now.

Restaurant Manager of the Year:
Adam Williamowsky, BLT Steak. This place is hoppin' and someone has to keep everyone in line!

Restaurant Employee of the Year:
Are you seeing a recurring theme here in restaurants? I abstain from voting in this one. I vote Miloud at Co Co Sala. I can do that right?

Neighborhood Gathering Place:
Belga Cafe. And not just because I love Eastern Market.

Hottest Bar Scene of the Year:
Such a hard decision, Brasserie Beck, Poste in the Summer and Proof if you can squeeze in. But can I just throw in a random one - Marvin's kiddies.

Power Spot of the Year:
Bistro Bis, its like the SPURS Dynasty, they just don't go away.

Voter's Favorite:
Locanda in Eastern Market!

Hey. Thought you should know that the nominees in some of the categories must be open a minimum of 2 years by Decemeber 31, 2007 before being nominated. Hence why Proof wasnt in the line up for Wine and Beverage Program. They should be on the docket for the RAMMYS held in 2010.

Tackle Box in Georgetown is unsustainable to families. After working 6 months for Barton Seaver and giving him every recipie for tackle box, I was let go for asking about the pay for my staff. If any press would like to know the truth about Chef Barton Seaver or Pure hospitality(what a joke) please contact ex chef of tackle box georgetown Robert Bechtold. 703 254 7110
