Coast to Coast for Vets: A Message from Iris Ferguson

A Message from Iris Ferguson

As some of you know, I'm leaving DC in the coming weeks. I'm setting off to bike across the country from Virginia Oregon in order to raise funding and awareness for the troops. The non-profit organization I'm raising money on behalf of is the Yellow Ribbon Fund. Based in Bethesda, MD, the Yellow Ribbon Fund seeks to help injured returning service members while they recuperate at Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval Hospitals.

As a send off, I'm holding a fundraiser at James Hoban's Irish Bar on Dupont Circle on Wednesday, May 21st from 6 pm- 9pm.

Coast to Coast for Vets is a website to document my bike trek across the country on the TransAmerica route. I'm riding to raise both greater awareness of veterans issues and funding for the Yellow Ribbon Fund.

The Yellow Ribbon Fund is a non-profit organization that seeks to help returning injured service members while they recuperate at Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval Hospital. Since its inception in February of 2005, the Yellow Ribbon Fund has spent over $1,350,000 on transportation, lodging, mentoring and other assistance to our injured service members and their families.

100% of monetary donations to Coast to Coast for Vets will be given to the Yellow Ribbon Fund
