Café Tropé is a wonderful place for dinner and even better with good friends to share the experience with… The ambience is excellent, it has an intimate and warm welcoming feel, making it hard to just eat and leave; you find yourself moving from the table after your meal, to seat at the bar for at least one drink.

The food is brilliant… The seafood dishes are supreme, compliments to the chef. It is an absolute suggested must that you get a bottle of wine to go with your meal, the food is that good. Besides, the wine selection is nice enough that you can’t help but to order a bottle. The serving sizes of the meals is adequate (not disappointing and not overwhelming), by time you finish your dish you are completely satisfied. All the dishes have a fantastic exotic curl of European & Tropical essence; both the presentation and taste are alluring to the eye and your pallet.

The staff is friendly and balanced with their service. Everything is served with a smile and the servers have perfect decorum when they check back with you at your table without being a pest or annoying.

I especially enjoyed Abdula our waiter for the night, he offered great suggestions from the menu and kept my friends & I laughing and maintaining the mood that the panoramic views from the restaurant windows already set off.

Being a group of girls (always watching our weight) we did not take pleasure in any deserts, so I don’t have much to say about it. However, a couple that looked to be on a first date at the table next to us each indulge in a slice of espresso cake topped with chocolate syrup (I think) and a scope of vanilla ice cream leaning against the slice. Of course the girls & I vicariously enjoyed eating the cake with them, because we couldn’t stop looking at how enticing the cake was and they ate every bite of the cake. It had to have been good!

We moseyed over to the bar after our dinner, the experience at the bar was copasetic; we had order a few mojitos made by Phil the bartender, they were so good that each time you sipped from your glass, you had to stop and look at the glass. One of my girls just kept saying, “This mojito has a kick” we had a 10-minute discussion about how good the mojitos are. Phil’s play list from his IPOD that played over the system was a good blend to go with the first-rate mojitos as well.

My friends and I only planned on just having dinner so we could catch up with each other, but the comfortable influence of Café Tropé was so good, we stayed until closing. It couldn’t have been any better; we enjoyed great food, excellent wine/mojitos, outstanding service, good friends and a pleasant atmosphere to come back to, so we can do it all again.

Peace!

p.s.

This all went down on 3/14/08.It was a Friday, in case you want to catch Phil the bartender and his mojitos with a "kick".

atmosphere, soft lighting, great tasty food, not oily, dare I say
healthy! Chef was wonderful and came to our table to congratulate us.
