DC Commission for Arts and Humanities Concert with the Washington National Opera this Saturday

Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 4 p.m. the DC Commission for Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) will sponsor a reception and concert at the Frederick Douglass House entitled, “Black Women in Opera Celebrate Black Women in Community.” The concert will feature Joyce Lundy and Alia Waheed-Ky, singers and Dana Scott, accompanist. The event will honor Black women who have made significant contributions to the vitality of their community. The event is FREE and open to the public.

Included will be selections from a work in progress, Graffiti Corner, a one act opera on the dreams and challenges of living in Ward 7.
