I come from a family of beef lovers. Literally growing up (on a farm in Texas) we would send my favorite steer (which I normally raised and bottle fed from a baby) to slaughter each year. You try coming home from school and finding your "pet" gone, only to be sat down at the dinner table and have your brother grin and say, "Guess what's for dinner". Needless to say, I've evolved from eating my "pet" and was overjoyed today when I saw Gilt Groupe's sale on Omaha Steaks. I sent my dad some filet mignons and also gifted myself a few too.
