On Monday evening, June 14th, more than 50 of the area's best chefs will plate up special tastings of mouth-watering dishes in the ballroom of the Hilton Washington to raise funds for Food & Friends at the 20th Anniversary of the organization's annual Chef's Best Dinner & Auction presented by ING.
Proceeds from the Chef's Best gala fundraiser support Food & Friends' winning recipe - combining healthy ingredients with compassion, volunteer service and charitable support - to create not only life-sustaining nutrition but also hope that changes the lives of those facing HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses in immeasurable ways. This year, guests will help to provide one million meals to 2,800 individuals in the greater National Capital Region.
Thanks to the tireless efforts this year's Celebrity Chef Chair Jamie Leeds (Executive Chef and Owner of Hank's Oyster Bar and CommonWealth Gastropub), guests will enjoy innovative morsels prepared by some of the region's brightest culinary stars, including Ris Lacoste, PS7's Peter Smith, Dean Gold of Dino, Eventide's Miles Vaden and Anthony Chittum of Vermilion, among other notables from the DC dining scene. In addition, attendees will have opportunity to open their wallets to bid on an array of exciting silent & live auction items featuring incredible packages ranging from travel opportunities to a 9-week old Cavalier King Charles Ruby Spaniel puppy.
