UNICEF Tap Project Benefit at DC Restaurants All Week Long

Thousands of restaurants across the country will participate in the UNICEF Tap Project during World Water Week 2010, March 21-27. The idea is simple: for one week, you donate $1 for tap water that we usually take for granted. The proceeds benefit UNICEF water and sanitation programs in places like the Central African Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Togo, and Vietnam.

Why is this so critical? Every day 4,100 children die of water-related diseases; Nearly 900 million people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water and almost half of them are children. Just $1 raised through the UNICEF Tap Project can provide a child with safe water for 40 days. They have hundreds of volunteers right here in DC recruiting restaurants and organizing events.

Participating DC restaurants include: Brasserie Beck, Hank's Oyster Bar, Westend Bistro, Matchbox, Citronelle, Jaleo, Bourbon Steak, Zaytinya, and many more. For reservations and information CLICK HERE.
