Critters for the Cure, a DC non-profit providing financial aid to women with cancer, will host Critters (and Couture!) For The Cure, a fashion show and champagne gala on the evening of March 11, 2010 at Bloomingdale’s in Chevy Chase.

At the event, female cancer survivors and their critters will strut their stuff on the ‘cat’walk, while attendees enjoy a luxury silent auction, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Doctors from Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Suburban Hospital will receive honors for their dedication to a CFTC member who recently lost her battle with cancer. Event sponsors include Bloomingdale’s, Polo Ralph Lauren, Puppia, Genentic, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, and M&T Bank. Host committee members include Angie Goff, Anita Brikman, Nikki Burdine, Andrea Roane, Kate Michael, Sue Palka, Eun Yang, Pamela Brown, Krista Johnson, and Lana Orloff. Members of the Honorary Committee include Congresswoman Maxine Waters, United States Senator Barbara Mikulski, United States Senator Robert P. Casey Jr., The Honorable Chuck Grassley, Congressman Tom Petri, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer, Congressman Charles Gonzalez, Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, Congressman Gene Green, Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D., Congressman Fred Upton, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, Congressman Mike McIntyre, and Congressman John Dingell.

Critters for the Cure is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that provides financial assistance to those fighting womens cancer, and encourages recovery through the love of critters. The Critters Patient Treatment Assistant Fund (CPTAF) allows CFTC to assist DC area women who are uninsured, underinsured, or not covered by state and federal programs receive the treatment they need to survive. CFTC differentiates itself by providing the most direct and fastest support of any womens cancer non-profit, including national organizations. Almost 90% of every dollar raised at the Gala will go directly to local women in need – whether is used to shop for groceries, fill a prescription, purchase wigs and prosthetics, or take a dog to the vet.

General admission tickets are $75, and VIP tickets are $150, which includes a VIP cocktail reception, early silent auction viewing, reserved seating, and luxury gift bag. Purchase your tickets HERE.
