Hush Supper Club Hits DC

According to The List Are You On It, the Washington, DC restaurant scene sorely lacks the kind of authentic, filling, and unique meals that only home kitchens can provide. To fill that need, HUSH Supper Club has emerged. This underground dining experience will add spice, both literally and figuratively, to your dining advertures.

The food is predominately from the northwestern state of Gujarat, and all meals are vegetarian - but include yogurt, milk and ghee (clarified butter). With every meal, the tale of its origins will be told. This includes a tour of the typical Indian masala dabba (spice box), any religious or cultural history of the meal, and a special tasting of raw ingredients. Questions are encouraged and sampling and peeking are allowed.

Two types of seating - a social table for 8 in the dining room and private dining for parties of 2 and 4 in the salon. Located a few blocks from U Street in northwest, you'll only receive the exact address and directions via email 48 hours before the dinner. Wine and beer are BYOB. Strange, there was a really good underground restaurant called Hush Supper Club that operated a few blocks from Eastern Market in the 2007-8 timeframe. I wonder if this underground restaurant is related?
