Last week's ART BUZZ was a huge success as more than 150 DCers came in support of the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative.
The DC Collaborative ensures that underserved DC public school students benefit from the region’s rich array of arts amenities. We provide free transportation and free tickets to storytelling presentations, music, dance, and theater experiences; plus trips to The Kennedy Center and museums.
In addition the Collaborative provides teachers with professional development sessions and study materials, adding further incentive to integrate the arts into their daily lessons. In the 2009 school year, more than 32,000 students and teachers visited cultural institutions through our program.
Every dollar raised from donations at the trunk shows supports arts education in the District. Thank you to our sponsors City Shop Girl, Everard's Clothing,Jamie Hess PR and Ezra Consultancy.
And a very special thanks to the 11 jewelry designers who participate. Visit them online to purchase their creative works.
