Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care's Annual Fall Fundraiser: “In Our Own Voice” Coming October 22nd

Join me October 22nd for the Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care's Annual Fall Fundraiser: “In Our Own Voice”. This evening of food and libations supports DC-based Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care and includes private preview of the documentary , “In Our Own Voice”, created by local children participating in the Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care's after school program.

DC has an alarming HIV rate of three percent and while prevention is an important part of reducing this epidemic stakeholders and advocates must also consider those already living with this disease. Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care is the only organization in the District dedicated to working with infected young people and their families. With new developments in treatments those with HIV/AIDS are living healthier and longer lives and for children and adolescents this has brought new challenges and opportunities.

Navigating adolescence is difficult enough and for children living with HIV/AIDS and this is compounded by a chronic disease, stigma, and uncertainty for their future and often the future of their loved ones. Through programming such as the creative arts, individual, family and group counseling, family support and case management, summer camp, and recreation activities Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care supports the needs of children and their families living with AIDS and HIV.

General admission tickets are $75 and include open bar, dinner, live music and private viewing of the documentary. VIP admission tickets are $125 and include all of the above, plus a goodie bag and pre-show cocktail hour. Tickets can be purchased on-line HERE.
