Brewer is hosting the tapping of “Saison” on Tuesday, May 12th from 7-8pm, and will be offering $2 snifters of Saison to Mug Clubbers.
What is Saison? Saison is a French farmhouse ale. Back in the day, farmers would make these beers to quench the thirst of their farmhands. Alcohol contents were low and the beer was light and refreshing. Today examples of Saison vary greatly in alcoholic strength, body, color, and flavor. My Saison is light, crisp, dry and refreshing with an alcoholic strength over 7%. It is slightly earthy with a spicy finish.
