George Stephanopoulos to be the Bark Ball Gala Chair

The Washington Humane Society’s 22nd annual Bark Ball will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009. The Ball will move this year to the Washington Hilton (1919 Connecticut Ave., NW), allowing for the event to grow from 600 attendees with dogs in-hand, to more than 900 this year. Individual tickets are $250 each, and a table of 10 is $2250. More info HERE.

This year’s Gala Chair will be George Stephanopoulos. The Honorary Committee includes: Honorary Host Committee Chairs: Mary Matalin and James Carville, Morton and Grace Bender, The Honorable David Catania, The Honorable Mary Cheh, Senator John and Mrs. Darlene Ensign, The Honorable Jack Evans, Ambassador and Mrs. Ichiro Fujisaki, The Honorable Jim Graham, The Honorable Vincent Gray, The Honorable Maurice Hinchey, Ambassador Stuart and Gwen Holliday, The Honorable John Larson, Gordon Peterson and Anne Fleming and The Honorable Adam Schiff.

This evening is the only black-tie gala for Washington, DC’s movers and shakers to bring their canine companions as their dates. The Bark Ball draws many of the area's most illustrious residents and their four-legged friends. Dogs attending the Bark Ball will dine in style and enjoy gourmet dog treats provided by Barkley Square Gourmet Dog Bakery & Boutique.


The VIP reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by an extensive silent auction featuring jewelry, luxury items, hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates and travel packages compliments of the exclusive Bark Ball travel partner, American Airlines, at 7:00 p.m., dinner and program at 8:00 p.m. then dancing at 9:00 p.m. New this year will be a live auction and pet psychic
readings by Animal Communicator, Diane Roadcap.
