World Water Week is on with the opening reception this Tuesday @ Pepco Gallery

During World Water Week, a weeklong charity event created by The Tap Project (an initiative of UNICEF), restaurants here in DC and across the United States will encourage patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free. Every dollar raised provides a child with clean drinking water for 40 days.

On top of getting over a hundred DC restaurants (see below) signed up to participate, Tap DC is also hosting a community art exhibit called “Turn a Glass of Water into Something Beautiful” at the Pepco Edison Gallery to benefit UNICEF’s efforts to provide clean drinking water to children around the world.

Meet local residents and artists who helped turn a glass of water into something beautiful and enjoy live performances from D.C.-area artists and sample beverages created by our Tap “Mixologist”. There will also be a silent auction of select artwork from DC-area artists with proceeds going to the Tap Project.
