Word on the Street: The jockeying has begun for the best spot in town

Penn Quarter

Just today I had a mini-conversation with a friend who works in the new Administration on how everyone was running around trying to jockey for "who sits where" in the West Wing. I could only imagine. But word on the street from Luxist is that real estate in Washington DC is suddenly looking brighter and there is a rat race to buy up hot real estate close to the White House. The NY Times has an interesting piece on the pre-inaugural real estate forays of members of Obama's team coming to Washington DC.

Obama's younger skewing team is more urban and headed to both upscale and gentrifying neighborhoods including U Street, Logan Circle and Adams Morgan as well as the typically swanky Georgetown and Kalorama. Check out these Sotheby's properties priced from $300,000 to $30 mil HERE.

Below is a gorgeous property in Penn Quarter right across the street from Co. Co. Sala for a cool $800 k. Get the full skinny HERE.
