For those dreaming of a white Christmas, at The Renaissance Mayflower’s Café Promenade, the tint may come in the form of foam this year rather than snow. This December 25th, the season will be brighter as the historic restaurant offers meals to put a smile on any Grinch’s face.

All day long, Café Promenade will serve a lavish Sunday brunch buffet featuring Moet & Chandon Champagne and a menu that includes such delights as classic breakfast dishes, fresh salads, seafood bar, soups, international cheeses, epicurean entrees, sides and a selection of holiday desserts from pastry chef Stephane Giannoni. Christmas Day brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Later in the day, Café promenade features a lavish $65 prix fixe four-course dinner with savory selections including hearty New England style clam chowder or ginger-butternut squash soup, followed by Grilled Frisee’ Salad and Yellow Fin Tuna carpaccio with orange balsamic drips; golden & red beets, Vermont goat cheese, and caramelized walnuts or fresh pulled Mozzarella, baby arugula and herb crostini with Balsamic glaze. A mouth watering entrée selection includes Maryland crab cakes with red pepper coulis; roasted free range chicken half with Charmola sauce; tenderloin of beef with Cabernet mushroom sauce; rack of New Zealand lamb with Dijon-Merlot reduction or grilled vegetable mosaic, in puff pastry, as well as a choice of side dishes. The meal concludes with the perfect sweet finish of seasonal berries with Sabayon; bread pudding accompanied by Crème Anglaise or chocolate lava cake. Holiday dinner seatings are 6 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
