Right now I am really into Nero D'Avola wines. Mostly because my last trip to Italy a few months back it was all I drank. I'm fixated on CUSUMANO Nero d’Avola Sicilia 2006/2007. You can pick up this wine at any of your local World Market stores for just $12. There is bit of Indian spice, lots and lots of smooth berry flavor and a bit of a zing.
Nero d'Avola is Sicily's hidden gem. It's an indigenous grape almost unknown to the rest of the world, but my palette has found it! And I hope yours does too.
