Source Festival this Saturday and a big welcome to the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative

The Cultural Development Corporation is pleased to announce the inaugural Source Festival which opens June 21st and runs through July 13th.

And perhaps you didn't know, but Source will now be the new home for the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative, where I sit on the board of directors. I saw the new space this past week and its absolutely amazing and the Collaborative is so blessed to be a member of the Source family.

The Source Festival draws from the tradition of the former Washington Theatre Festival which for over two decades served as a springboard for theatre artists and a place where new talent was fostered and discovered. The Source Festival is helmed by Producer, Jeremy Skidmore and Associate Producers, Merry Alderman, Sarah Coleman and Jessie Gallogly. The three-week festival showcases playwrights, actors and directors and encourages the creation and presentation of new work. The festival will feature 10-Minute Plays, 24-Hour Plays, One Act Plays and a range of interdisciplinary work.

The Source Festival seeks to unite Washington, DC area artists by providing opportunities for new artistic challenges and collaborations while presenting timely, cutting-edge performances for greater DC audiences. The Source Festival offers the unique opportunity to experience the synergy and innovation that results from the partnerships between established and emerging artists. Everything presented in the festival will be new work curated in a process overseen by Festival Producer Jeremy Skidmore.
All tickets are $15 and are on sale now and available for purchase by visiting sourcedc.org/sourcefestival or
