Many battles have been fought over the centuries, but none more delicious than the one now simmering just below Capital Hill in Washington. The BBQ sauce will be at full boil the first weekend of summer, June 21st and 22nd, 2008, when the Safeway Barbecue Battle transforms historic Pennsylvania Avenue into a colossal arena of food, music, interactive exhibits, cooking demonstrations, and sensory pleasures fit for an Emperor. Admission includes a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs, lots of free food samples, all the great live music, six cooking stages, celebrity chefs and other fun family entertainment.
