Spell Antidisestablishmentarianism

The 2008 National Spelling Bee Finals are taking place in DC on Friday at the Grand Hyatt Washington this Friday.
Though not open to the public, the show is also televised on ABC at 8 p.m. Back in grade school I won a spelling bee once. And I won a couple of books, no $ check $ mind you. Specifically the best book was the Young Readers Thesaurus, which I still have today. I even still use it at work. And yes, new editions have come out since then and new words, but it's really significant to me. It's been through college and graduate school and a number of press release drafts and papers. The Bee is the nation’s largest and longest-running educational promotion, administered on a not-for-profit basis by The E.W. Scripps Company and 280 sponsors. The event takes place on the Independence Concourse (level 5-B) of the Grand Hyatt Washington, 1000 H Street (10th and H Streets), N.W., in downtown Washington, D.C. The event is not open to the general public.
