Bar chef Gina Chersevani Makes a Splash Across the Potomac at Eat Bar in Arlington

Bar Chef Gina Chersevani, who joined Arlington’s preeminent gastropub EatBar last month, has stirred up interest in Northern Virginia’s cocktail scene with her inventive mixed drinks that embrace fresh, seasonal products normally found on the dinner plate rather than in the martini glass.

Chersevani’s talents were recently recognized at Absolut Vodka’s “Best Martini” competition, held at the Beacon Bar and Grille in Washington DC on March 10th. Battling eight other bartenders, Chersevani nabbed a first place finish with a cocktail and cookie garnish inspired by the book, “Alice in Wonderland.” Tonight, she will compete again, this time at Share our Strength’s Taste of the Nation. During the charity event’s bar chef competition, Chersevani will vie against three other local mixologists to create the best sweet and savory cocktails of the night.
