Fashion for World Peace is a charitable fundraising initiative that supports the woman’s role in creating peace and global unity around the world. Created through the shared vision of the WFWP, DC Metro chapter and REDgemini, this event has already proven successful in 2006 when influential governmental figures, top fashion designers, models, celebrities, artists/performers and fashion-forward thinking metropolitans all came together to raise funds for this noteworthy cause.

Through collective efforts around the country, WFWP has raised a total of $140,000 towards our ultimate goal of one million dollars.
Last year’s proceeds benefited the Schools of Africa Project by providing financial assistance and scholarship grants for schools established by WFWP in Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea. A total of 14,000 students have already graduated from these schools established a decade ago.

The 2nd Annual Fashion for World Peace event includes a unique silent auction, Ambassador for Peace awards recognizing individuals who contribute to peace building, international music and a high-fashion-runway show featuring local, national and international designers.

Sunday December 9th, 2007, 5 p.m. at the Arbor Ballroom, The Washington Times Building, 3600 New York Ave, NE, Washington, D.C. 20002.
