DC This Week Supports the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure®

Last year, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure ® raised $4.7 million for local education and community outreach programs that work tirelessly to assist vulnerable populations. Thanks to a Susan G. Komen Foundation, wait times for a biopsy at a major cancer center in DC were cut by 17 percent.

Register online by May 23 to receive your event kit in the mail. All registration fees include a Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure T-shirt, which will be included in your Event Kit along with your official Race bib (and timing chip if you are registered as a runner).

Register in Person
Visit our calendar to find upcoming opportunities for you and your teammates to register in-person for the Komen Global Race. Each registrant does NOT have to be present to register, so you may collect registration forms from your friends, family or team members and bring them all at once.
Survivors
Whether you register as a walker, runner or sleeper, if you’re a breast cancer survivor (and indicate as such on your registration form) you will receive a pink survivor T-shirt, hat and bib along with your Race T-shirt, and will be awarded a special medal on Race Day. You will also be invited to participate in a special honorary ceremony the morning of Race Day. More information for survivors can be found here.
Teams
Multiply your impact on the cause by forming a team for the Komen Global Race for the Cure. Bring together friends, family, co-workers, neighbors or club members to join the fight to end breast cancer. Teams can consist of two or more walkers, runners, sleepers or kids. There is no additional fee to start or join a team.
Our Team Captain Guide contains all the information and ideas you’ll need to become one of our biggest and highest fundraising teams. More information for team captains can be found here.
When you register your team, you will be asked to select a division (for example, corporate, friend/family, armed forces, etc.). The top fundraising team in each division will receive special recognition at the Race. Check out the latest standings for each team division.
